Unfortunately as far as saving the thorntons goes its a great big FAIL. OH got home and chided me into opening them 'just to have a look'

well you can guess what happened next... yum!

For info people who didnt get their moments - you were supposed to add them to your basket as per T&Cs, or so Ive just been told by their CS. They cant send on the Moments as they've already sent the rest but I could call up and pay extra postage to get them...

Im going to call tomorrow and suggest they email me a coupon and I can pick them up from my local store (at the same time as I pick up ANOTHER box of continental using my £5 voucher to replace the ones Im in the process of destroying right now :rotfl:)

I called them today and they promised to send the missing moments and the 2nd box of chocs in the post tomorrow. You have to put everything in your basket and then add codes etc.

One box of chocolates missing, and the excuse they give is that you had to put two boxes in the basket - which I know I did.

They'll send the missing box, but only for an extra postage charge! Their mistake - but the customer pays for it. For anyone wanting to argue it out with them, you might want to note that they've craftily added the following words to the website:

"Simply add two boxes to your basket and pay for just one."

AFTER most of the orders went in. These words were not added until today (I took a copy of the website yesterday when someone kindly highlighted the problem), but they're using them as an excuse for charging another lot of postage, rather than accepting the blame themselves.

Buy one get one free means just that. Expecting customers to pay extra postage for Thorntons' mistake is sharp practice, and creates a very bad impression of the company.

Shame on you, Thorntons.

That's good. Maybe they took account of the complaints they were getting and decided to behave sensibly and responsibly, rather than risk losing a lot of goodwill from customers like me, who are now ex-customers.

They can ill afford to upset customers by ripping them off like this just before their peak selling season.

Does anyone know which courier Thorntons uses? I was meant to have a saturday delivery (paid extra for it) but there's been no sign of it!!! Thanks

I don't know which courier they use but they can be delivered up to 21:00!

Just got back from Cheshire Oaks - they had quite a lot of these piled up and I am shocked that I managed to resist!! :eek:

The boxes are huge, look really nice and great value.

Didn't buy largely because I know that I would be sat infront of the X Factor munching my way through them at this very moment:rotfl:

Just picked a box up 4 £9.99 in a Thorntons shop, was told I couldn't use the voucher on these reduced boxes on a second purchase
