You have to earn under £100 a week to be able to claim carers allowance.

As well as earning less than £100 per week as merlin68 says, you also have to care for someone for a minimum of 35 hours per week. Carers allowance is taken in to account with tax credits, ie it's classed as income.

    Not quite - it's 35 hours a week.

The person you are caring for must get DLA care at the middle or higher rate.
