Landlord advice please. Tenant wants to pay weekly

Hope someone can give me a quick bit of advice. Have rented my flat for five years always rent paid monthly. We have interviewed new tenants over the weekend but they have called today to ask if the can pay weekly rather than monthly.
Will this have any major implications on the tenancy. The reason for the request is that both of the couple are working and both get paid weekly.
Thanks for your help

If paid weekly you need to provide a rent book and make the entries as and when paid. Makes for a lot more hard work for you.
Presuming england or wales ?Inside this body lays one of a skinny woman
but I can usually shut her up with chocolate!
When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.

All OK but...
a) You have to provide, and sign, each week a rent book...(LL & T Act 1985 S4)
b) If they can't manage their finances such that they can pay monthly I'd have less confidence in them as tenants... (Sorry guys, maybe it's just me...). I'd simply ask them to pay monthly.0 -
make it easy for the tenants and they will pay the rent0

It also affects the notice period if the tenancy goes periodic. A minor considerarion.0

Do they expect you to pop around weekly to collect the rent or will they pay the money in to your bank account weekly?0

in terms of a rent book.... i would keep the book filing it in each week, but give them a paying in book for your account (if they cant do standing orders) and then they will have the receipt each time they pay rent0

I think I would be hesitant in renting to them too.
If they cant manage their money (by putting away an amount each week and then paying you monthly) they seem as if they are not confident in them selves that they would not spend it before month end.
Its their problem, not yours, make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

i have had several tenants over the years who i have made separate arrangements with for rent....
not everyone is good at budgeting and they are offering you a solution ahead of time, rather than waiting till they get in arrears 2 months down the line... they sound very responsible to me0 -
i know the tent book is for the tenant... but short of the LL going to their home every week, this is a foolproof way of tenants getting a receipt and the LL getting his rent... if there was ever a dispute the rent book could be produced0
