Digital Camera question

I see that Lidl are selling the fuji finepix JX220 from Monday according to their catalogue.
However, when I google said camera absolutely nothing comes up. The model does not appear to exist, the closest is the finepix JX200.
So, my question is, how come? Are stores given special numbers that denote it is their sale. On a more suspicious note, is it so that e can't search for reviews?
Any help gratefully received.

I guess it's a bit of each - good for stores to offer pricematch when no other store sells "same" model item.
A lot of products I've searched for eg from argos only seem to exist at argos/homebase - home retail group0 -
to be fair, fuji tends to be one of the better makes. I think its either lidl or aldi that sells the traveller make, and its not the best at all.
What is the pixel rating for the camera they have on offer, also the zoom how many times and by e.g digital??

It's 5x optical zoom NOT digital...0

It sounds like a really good spec for the price, & lithium batteries have far longer life than AA.
Very tempting!

The Canon is only 3x optical zoom & uses AA batts.
The Olympus is 4x optical; doesn't specify batt type but if only 1 is probably lithium. But is out of stock anyway...;)0 -
The JX200 is the same price at Amazon if you prefer the "usual" version. Also check out the deal for 8GB memory card £88 ish for both. Thanks to the replies so far.

It would appear that the 220 is a specific model number for the store as the spec seems to be the same for both and look like a reasonable deal but the proof is in the photos produced.
Mega pixel count is not the be all and end all as it only really shows a benefit when the photos are printed on large format paper above A4, larger optical zoom is usually a plus point as it zooms in without the pixilation and distortion that digital zoom can produce.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
I have been looking at the Fujifilm FinePix JX200 (Amazon) and the JX220 (Lidl), and also the JX210 (Jessops) all at £79.
Like others on this thread I could not find the difference between the three models so telephoned Fujifilm UK this morning to ask. The response was that they are all the same. I think the JX220 is probably exclusive to Lidl and Jessops claim the JX210 is exclusive to them.0 -
Also according to www.digicamreview.co.uk the JX200, JX210 and JX220 are all the same model. Often manufacturers will release the same model with different names according to the country they're released in and Lidl imports from abroad so it's likely that has something to do with it. Also they sometimes release different colours of the same model in different countries and give them different name. HTH!0
