Sky multi room?

I've recently separated and moved into my own house with my 3 sons, I've got Sky (which is a bit of a luxury I couldn't really afford but it made them all happy) my 2 eldest sons are earning money so have paid to have multi room in their own rooms.
My youngest son however has a nice new digital freeview tv in his room but when plugging the aerial into it it doesn't get a signal. I can't really afford to get someone out to fix his aerial or pay for multi room (as they charge £60 to come out and £60 for a box) just at the moment but I wondered as the previous owners had sky in that room (so the cables are there) could I just buy a 2nd hand sky box and it'd work or would I need to go through sky whatever, or are there any other options I could get the tv receiving channels?
many thanks for any advice (it's taking a bit of getting used to having to organise everything myself for my family...lol)

Assuming the satellite feeds are connected to the LNB and its functional then yes plug in a Sky box and you will get most of the free to air stations. If you want all thats available you can buy a freesat from Sky card for around £20.
Or get your son to pay to get the aerial fixed. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
my son's only 10 so can't really pay towards it, but I'll give that a try thanks0

There's also FreeSat, which is where you just buy a box and plug it into a dish and can get most of the Freeview channels. This is somewhat similar to Sky's free offering and does work with a normal Sky dish.
Does he have a PC? You can actually get most of Freeview free on the net, in which case you could probably plug the PC into the TV as another option.
