Big hugs as that is an awful thing to have to do. Is there a dog kennels near you that you could walk their dogs until you are back on your feet and able to home another loving dog?

aaw that's awful but we got a dog from the kennels-(my oh doesn't work as we have 2 toddlers) to play with our other dog to give it some company when we had to go out and she is awful she has ripeed up our bran new stair /hall/kitchen carpet so we know have bare floors. 2 of my coats (literally ripped them apart) so i have no coat!and this was in 1/2 hours! she goes through bins/dug up the garden e.t.c. so if you see where i'm going with this....you have most definately done the right thing, it is too much stress working/kids/puppy, mu oh will not let me take her back to the kennels cos he loves her but i can't cope with the stress and cleaning up sometimes.
I am sorry that you had to give your puppy up but it really is in every1's best interests.official dfw nerd club member no 214

Sweetie, there is nothing that anyone can say that will make it better just now. Having a good cry is really the only thing that will do any good just now. Having to make such a decision is awful but is witjpout doubt in the best intrests of your puppy. We have a load of cats at the mo, but have also had rescue dogs and DH was a volunteer at an animal shelter and honestly the dogs that had had a good loving start in life were so much happier. You have done the best for your doggie. That takes courage, guts and a whole lot of love to act in the best intrest of the dog. You are a brave and loving lady.I admire you and send you all my love. Not the same though.I am dreading telling the kids.
Sorry to hear that TMD...((hugs))....
When I split up from ex-oh...long time ago now.....we'd had a rotty for about 5/6 years...lovely temperement (for that read soft as anything!!)...he decided she was going with him...apparently she was 'his' dog...I had only ever paid for the injections, food bills, vets bills etc (he was unemployed...and probably still is for all I know/care...)..............but I decided at the time it wouldn't be fare to keep her...I was/am still working full time and going to evening college etc...
I thought at the time that although he is an a**hole....he's good with the dog........and had the time to give to her.....needless to say..not long after...her 'gave' the dog to his brother to 'look after'......never did take her back...though I have to say she was well looked after by his bro and family.....and was probably happier than she had been in a long time;)...
Have to ask...and sorry to bring this up.......any idea which a**hole reported you! Afterall, the dog was being looked after!0 -

Oh dear.....that is the problem (endearing factor???) with pups.....they do like to destroy things don't they?....shoes.......furniture...carpets....and unfortunately...other animals do seem to be a major attraction........I had to stop rotty diving into to my pond after the koi and the goldfish....also, frogs appeared from nowhere which was a MAJOR attraction.....that and the mice who lived in my house before I moved in....they emigrated to the garden......eventually...euughh!...dog loved them.......I didn't....well they didn't really bother me...when they were alive........but dead at my backdoor thanks to 10/11st rotty stamping on them and 'playing' with them!:rolleyes:0 -
you did the right thing. puppies at that age need a lot of care or they do go wild and eat the furniture etc. As heartbreaking as it was you did the responsible thing.x x x0
