Is my xbox360 bust?

Hi folks,
I have a xbox360 core edition with hdd etc. I have been having problems with 2 games ...
(1) Oblivion .... choppy sound during speech in cut scenes. After an update it seems to skip the intro now!!!
(2) Test Drive Unlimited .... Gameplay during driving can be choppy and graphic objects seem to "pop up" out of nowhere. This is annoying along with frame judders can be awful and off putting. Does not happen in PGR3.
Am I having these problems because I have a "first off the production line" model?? I purchased my xbox360 core on the day of its release last year.
Are people having problems with Oblivion and TDU???
There is a complication with taking it back as I damaged the graphics connection. I must of accidently kicked the thing such that the cable head was rammed into the wall hence damaging the port. Works ok but I need to occassionly "wiggle" the connector so that it displays the proper colours. I seem to lose a colour channel ie one of RGB.
Any ideas??
Jules

i would prob just risk sending it to Microsoft and say its got the the three red circles on it if its a first of the line production and then hope they refurb it for you!
i did that and got either a new one or my old one on friday...except they didn't send me a dam power pack!!!!

Hmm, well with regards to Oblivion, yeah I used to get problems with the audio.
Suddenly the audio would cut, then about 20 seconds later I'd get a message that the disc can't be read. I'd have to reboot the box. Not sure what was causing it, but upgraded the firmware (and or patches for the game) and it's fine now.
I got mine late December, so it'll be one of the first ones too.
Maybe raise a ticket with Microsoft and see what they say. It's always worth googling around to see if others have had the same problem."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

Hi there,
Not noticed my thread for a few days ... broadband trouble!! Anyhow fixed now. Now as for the xbox360 problems Mrs2fat gives me a fix for one of my problems. I kinda discovered the PAL50/60 solution myself by accident to solve my Test Drive Unlimited Intro Sound probs but was too "dumb" to apply the same fix to the Oblivion game (will try it later).
I still have the choppy gameplay issue in Test Drive Unlimited during gameplay not being as smooth as I expected. Maybe my standards are too high, the game too buggy or the box itself is freaking oout under the strain??
Other games seem ok though.

Personally, I would take it back to the place you got it from.
I had a problem with one i bought from PC World (The one with wireless controller and memory for £244). The drive wouldnt open and the lens wouldnt read anything (I think it was water damage). I went into Currys Digital and told the staff the problem I had. I said that Xbox told me it would take 14 days, and I dont want to have to wait that long.
Ask them for an exchange, they should be able to do it for you, they might not even test it (they didnt test mine!)
Good Luck
