Just Moved - so how do I switch?!

:(We've just moved into a new house and inherited both Gas and Electricity on a Swalec tarriff.

We're pretty sure that we could get a better deal, but comparison sites ask for usage to work out the best deal but we have no idea what our usage would be for 12 months, as this house is bigger than our last.

Does anyone have any ideas - I'm sure this must be quite a common problem! Should we just stick out the current tarriff for 12 months and then do a comparison, or is there something we can do now?

  • Most, if not all, switching sites and energy providers have consumption calculators to give you an average for your property based on the answers you provide about your property and circumstances, whilst not ideal it should give you a rough guide to what you're likely to use & which provider would cover you best.
