    You can run one on an extension OK. I did have one with three ethernet sockets that came on a short power lead but can't see that type listed anywhere now (Amazon + eBay seem to have 3 port ones but they look like they may be plug in ones). I found it didn't pay to have them plugged into to same extension as computer kit though.
