Wow. Thats all you want to do? If thats the case then you do know that any Pentium M laptop would manage that with flying colours. I should know, as I'm on my 2006 Dell 1.73Ghz laptop as we speak.
Right now with 2 windows of FireFox, (20 tabs total?) MSN, watching watchdog on iPlayer and having Word open, the CPU useage is 43%.
You can pick these up for around £100 of ebay. Hell, I even play a bit of San Andreas on it from time-to-time. (laugh all you like...
)

Cheapo £200 netbook will more than do, assuming you're ok with screen size and keyboard. TBH, any laptop for £350 will do exactly what you want for ease, be like asking for a car under £5000 that will get you to the newsagents and back.0
