Free £10 WH Smith Giftcard with 2 selected hardback books

Hello,

Was in Sheffield Meadowhall store today and noticed that the offer for a free WH Smith £10 giftcard is back on when you buy 2 selected hardback (chart) books.

Asked a member of staff and she said it started Thursday. They dont know for sure, but it may be on until Christmas and the books will change every week. She said it is numbers 51 to 150 each week.

I managed to buy 2 books today, and use a £5 off printed coupon. I politely asked if I could also use the 20% off card, which runs out tomorrow and they all worked.

Got 2 books for presents and a £10 giftcard for £16!

The giftcards are valid (once activated at the till) until 31st January 2011.

Great spot - thanks. Lots of the books in this offer are now half price and others are reduced. I got the new Malorie Blackman hardback for my daughter and the Top Gear Big Book of 2011, both for £11.98 (using the £5 off voucher) and was given the £10 gift card.

Almost being paid to take them away - so will have to go back for more.

The JLS hardback was included at half price - £6.49. The Big Book of Top Gear was £6.49 - I think these were the cheapest, but there are lots of great books in the offer. I am thinking that if I use my £10 gift card next time they will be free and I will get another £10 gift card and so on ......

I looked for books in this offer after seeing the deal on HUKD, and my local store had no signs showing what was on offer nor any mention of a giftcard. How did you tell which books were in the deal? I was hoping they would be clearly marked.

    Hi

There were two stands with a big promo banner across the top - one in the children's dept and one in the adult section. And each book had a red circle sticker saying "£10 giftcard when you buy any 2 Hardbacks with this sticker".

Hope you can track them down.
  • Yesterday they had Gino D'Acampo book "Fantastico!: Modern Italian Food" priced at £4.99 and stickered with the red "£10 giftcard when you buy any 2 Hardbacks with this sticker". had a £10 gift card to use that was expiring, so came away with two books, a new £10 gift card and 2p left on my old gift card!

you might want to get to £15 to use the £5 off too
  • I'm having a confused moment here. So, if I have this right, I can only use the £5 off a £10 book on a purchase of one book, but I can use the £5 off £15, or the £5 off £12 kids books in conjunction with the 'chart books + £10 voucher' ?

  • No sign of this offer at my local, just been and bought Keith Richards book, half price £10, and used my £5 off voucher. Total £5.00.

    Yep.

Best deal is 2 Chart books for ~£15, use £5 off £15 Books/Cards/Stationery voucher to bring the price down to ~£10.

You should be given a £10 gift voucher to be used (on anything, no min. spend) by end of Jan 2011.
Bargain if you ask me; I'll be popping in with my sister to stock up on books!

I've noticed the stickers are moving around - presumably as books move in the chart. Check out these see if they still have stickers for the gift voucher - they did last week
Green and Black chocolate cookbook £4.99
    Gok Wan £4.99
Al Murray can't remember price but was a good deal last week
    Hairy bikers family cookbook £4.99
    Delia Frugal food £7.19

I have noticed it doesn't always work at the till, but staff are knowledgeable and they have a cheat code in they can use.

Brilliant deal if you do lots of transactions as once you have paid for the first two books you can just go round again with your gift card and you can get some books for nothing.

These will make good secret santa presesnts too
