we are looking at buying a new tv and had a couple of questions (may seem daft to some)
ideally we are looking for a 32in LCD TV, possibly full HD, need 2 scart, ideally have a usb port, doesnt need to be freeview integrated as we have sky
- if we get a full HD tv can we still watch normal channels and programmes on it?
- is there any tv brands to be recommended or to stay away from or any good deals on at the moment?
thanks

What is your budget?
It would also be useful to know what things you need to be able to plug into it both now and in the foreseeable future of the new telly?0 -

dont really have a budget - probably mid range - not cheap but also not expensive
we would be watning to plug our sky+ in (not HD), a dvd or bluray player (although would be open to have one integrated unless its better to get them seperate or whether its better to get dvd than bluray) and a cctv camera

Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are the main ones to look for
You do get what you pay for (size, features and quality):idea:0 -

Yes you can. The TV will scale lower resolution images to fit the higher resolution display.
If you're not bothered about brand, here's a reasonable deal:

Edit: There's no USB on that TV sorry, which is something you requested although I think it meets your other criteria.0 -
yeah we arent overly bothered when it comes to brand - but would want/prefer a well know one, busy looking at different ones on different sites at the moment and the Sony Bravia ones sound quite good
some tvs are saying they are wireless enabled - what does this mean - does it mean you can surf the net like you can on the computer?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

Possibly but not necessarily. It most likely means it will connect to your home internet connection however the range of things you can do will vary. For example some very recent TVs offer access to BBC iPlayer or YouTube via your internet connection, enable you to view video stored on your PC over the wireless connection or allow access to specific popular web sites such as Facebook. However you may not be able to go to any website on the TV.
You will have to look carefully what it means for the specific TV model you are looking at. Try and google the TV manual which may help explain.0
