sending Sky to another TV?

Hi we have an extra TV with Sky in our kitchen and my daughter would like to be able to watch TV in her room, so I wondered if these devices that send signals would work and if anyone could recommend one please?
Do they work with the remote control upstairs, or would she need to change channels in the kitchen?
Where we live we do not receive any sort of terrestial signal so can only watch TV through sky.
Thanks Elmer

you can send the signal anywhere you want but she wont be able to watch somethign different from what is already showing.. i think.
but ring sky and ask for multiroom and they do that especially for this job."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
We already pay for one multiroom and I dont want to pay monthly for another one if there is a way to send the signal to another room without it
I have seen devices in the Argos catalogue that seem to suggest that we would be able to send the signal to another tv which would hopefully do the job, but I was hoping to get a recommendation as I really dont have a clue in this area.
Thanks elmer0 -
I got one years ago from Argos (I think it was about £25 in a sale), works fine.
It was not this one but it was this type of thing and you should be able to use the remote in the room you are sending the signal to.

Just bought this from amazon for exactly that purpose. Works brilliantly and you can even change channel from the other room, but can't watch something different from what is on the main receiver. You can control sky plus watching recordings etc too. It was about £47, I did a fair bit of research, some don't work with sky remote and others get interference from wireless routers, cordless phones etc.

Easiest solution would be a Sky TV-link, it uses the RF2 output of the Sky box, and a remote IR sensor to control the Sky box functions.
Tesco sell them as do many other outlets. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
You can do several things:
Buy a video sender if the aerial cable in your daughters bedroom can't receive from RF2 on the Sky Box
If it can receive, use the magic eye as suggested above
If you also want to watch TV on a laptop anywhere in the house (or the world), Slingbox Solo is great.

If you have Sky+ then you need a remote for Sky+ and not the one shown in penrhyns post which is for a basic Sky box.0

You could also get a 2nd hand skybox, connect it up to your dish (providing there's space on the LNB), and your daughter could have free-to-view channels in her room.0

I would recommend the wireless video sender as its a simple plug and play. You dont have to drill any holes in your house or mess around with your dish.
We had one and it was great.
Be warned however, they do go funny if near a mobile phone, especially during calls, so its important to consider how many mobiles are in your house and how close they are used to the sender or receiver. It can get really annoying.
Hope this helps :-)0 -
The set-up we have is... Sky+ in living room, Sky Multiroom to daughter's room and TV in kitchen connected by coaxial cable & magic eye (although I don't use a remote with it) plugged into the antenna out on the Sky+ box.
Generally when I am in the kitchen I want to watch the same as what is in the living room. I can even watch programmes that have been recorded on the Sky+ box in the kitchen. Because I don't use the remote you could try it with just coax cable before buying a magic eye... I'm only using it because my coax cable is about 1ft short. I actually think it'd work just the same UNLESS you want to change channels from the kitchen.
If you don't want a cable trailing around the house then a video sender is the other option only I found that ours didn't like to 'bend round corners'!DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024
