custard slice  use the puff pastry that has been cooked and layer it with cold custard and as many layers of puff pastry as you want then top with icing and stick it in the fridge to set yummmmmmmmmmm.
depending on the custard you are using it might need a bit of help to set firm so you might need to heat it though with some cornflour to thicken it right up before you start layering:Dproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -

Apparently you can use custard to put in some bread pudding. I am going to try that next time I have some left over..."Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0

Hi narabanekeater,
If it's decanted into a dish and stored in the fridge once opened it should be fine for a couple of days. I would give it a good stir, taste it, and if it seems ok then use it at teatime.

I don't know if this is the same stuff, but I froze half a carton of ready-made custard the other day in a plastic tub. It was absolutely fine.0

Me too on the freezing in plastic container front. Needs a bit more stirring when it's in the pan/microwave, I usually add small amount of semi skimmed milk to help it along. I've had it in the freezer for couple of months and then taken out, still alive.0

Hi all
I have a tub of ready made custard leftover from yesterday when a friend came round. I'm not really a big custard and cake fan but i dont want to throw it out.
Is there anything else i can do with it?0 -
