If you delete the emails on the server instead of downloading them to your hard disk, this problem wouldnt arise. See my post on Mailwasher above.

In case it's of interest to anyone, I worked out a way of filtering some forms of nuisance emails in Outlook Express and described it in this thread.

Incidentally, one of the 'Actions' you can define in the message rules is 'Delete it from server'.
