I am considering ordering some items from the US through ebay, what is the best way to pay in US$, Nationwide VISA or paypal? I expect the amount will be of the order of £150 + shipping. (the seller appears to be an ebay store for which you can bid or buy direct)

You would be covered with the Visa credit card but I'm not sure a debit card would give you any protection at all.0

Thanks guys
So are you saying Visa will effectively insure the pracel during shipping as well as fraud? Unfortunately the seller charges $5 extra for Visa. Any idea of the exchange /loading rate comparison for Visa and Paypal so I can work out the relative cost difference (I think for US transactions Nationwide Visa charge 1% from memory, not sure about if they use the same exchange rate)0 -
Why not pay via Paypal using your Nationwide credit card? When you get to the last page in the Paypal process, there is an option to choose to be billed in the transaction currency instead of GBP (by default, Paypal convert to GBP). Choose this option and you will get USD charged to your Nationwide credit card so no commision or loading and you won't have to pay the $5 surcharge for payment by VISA.0
