Boots Advantage Points

Not sure if this is the right place to post this here, so please feel free to move it if there's a more suitable forum for it ...

I applied for a Boots Advantage Card a while ago (in fact I've applied twice now) but they seem to be very slow in sending one out. Will I be able to have the points from my recent online orders added to the card when it comes through or have I lost those already?

I'll be rather annoyed if they don't add them on as these are orders I've placed since requesting a card and total over £100 so that's £10.00 (I think) that I will have lost :(

i would ring up the help line and ask them whats taking so long and also tell them about the online purchases you have made and ask them to credit it to the card.

Also if you are doing boots online then do a search on here for the boots thread!! loads of codes for money off or points!! good way of getting loads of points on your new card!! lol

    Hiya Curry_Queen

I'm not sure they would ya know, I was in boots store today with my daughter and she went to the till to pay for some items without me knowing. :( so when i went to pay for the extra basket of stuff i had i asked if they could put the points i would have earned on my card, but she said that they couldnt add points after a transaction had been made. Not sure why tho, tesco do it.

Worth a try tho, you dont get nowt if ya dont ask, Good luck with it, I hope they do :)

Isn't it a new policy that they won't add the points after now? I'm sure there's a thread about that some where.

I would definately query my card with CS. If you've waited ages, from the customer care side of things, they should let you add the on-line points.....hopefully.

    Hi,
I recently lost my Boots card and would have lost points whilst waiting for a new one, but if you ring up they will credit your account with the 'lost' points. I had a double points voucher at the time and complained i would not have time to use it whilst card lost. They gave me 500 points.

Also if you have no card ask them to validate the receipt whilst purchasing and then they will add the points on at the till when you get the card. You have 30 days from purchase to add them on. You have to ask them to validate the receipt prior to completing the transaction.

I finally received my Advantage card today and have emailed CS requesting February's orders be added to it, so will await their reply with interest!

One thing that concerns me slightly though is using the card for online orders ... I just noticed on the order page it says: "Advantage Card points can be collected at any in-store kiosk within 5 days of receipt of your order."

The problem is I am disabled and can't get to any Boots stores (which is why I order online  ) so does this mean I won't actually get any points after all? :(

  • I saw that too curry queen and worried but I think that it must mean that they are available on the card five days hence. At least I hope that is what it means or there is no incentive to buy Boots products online. I shall try and go in the shop tomorrow - check my card and will report back.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Usually to get points you have to put your card into the advantage card machines which are only in larger stores and hardly ever work:rolleyes: As far as I know that is the only way to get the points onto the card, you or someone else would have to visit a store with a machine :( You also need to give them a minimum of 5 days to add the points however they usually don't take that long to appear on screen (you put your card in and get a print out saying XXX points have been added to your card from boots.com) Hope that helps!

Thanks mrme, your explanation was definitely helpful but I'm damned annoyed that Boots operate this way

My nearest large Boots store is over 20 miles away, even if I could manage to get to it, and I don't have anyone that could go for me to collect the points. It says they have to be collected within 5 days of receipt of order, so I guess they go off the system after that :(

I wonder if this would fall under the Disability Discrimination Act
