Something good for a change

Changed from E.ON to EDF yesterday and yes they both have their up and down sides like every other company.
Anyhow over the last 2 years I used this site for ideas to proof my victorian 3 story house and reduced my gas/electric bill from £120pcm to £66.
I itroduced the usuage of old victorian fireplaces with free left over wood from neighbours' skips, drift wood and the like. Just the one room that we use to watch TV in the evening. Nothing much.
On top I just changed via cashback site reducing my monthly pay to £59.00 + £80 cashback + £100 credit from EDF. Thats essentially 3 months free. Not bad for such a big and drafty house. :T
The fab feeling of that success and hearing about price rises today, was a real winner.
Thanks for all the tips over the years to users and the moneysavingexpert team! It makes a massive difference.

Well done! It's amazing what can be acheived! I too have dropped from paying £123.00 to paying £73.00 a month and I certainly don't feel it's been too much of a hardship.0

Due to info gleaned from this site and similar I'm actually paying less for gas and electric now than I was in 2005 (and only a few ££s more than 2003!!)0
