Police Auction Ebooks

Can someone tell me why people still buy things like this:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PING-GOLF-CLUBS-UP-TO-95-OFF-POLICE-AUCTION-EBOOK_W0QQitemZ130035835453QQihZ003QQcategoryZ47103QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Sorry dont know how to shorten link.

The auction and loads like it clearly states that its an ebook and I dont even think its all that misleading.

Has anyone had any experience of these listings (either sold or bought)?

I dont want the info.. i am sure its free if I look hard enough!:D

Just wanted to hear peoples take on them - and yes, I am a bit bored!!!;)

Think people just buy them to try and grab a bargain, from memory their used to be a police auction site called https://www.bumblebeeauctions.co.uk and their is also a website called https://www.floodle.net which has a list of ebooks for free download as this is normally where people get them from

I endorse the floodle link. The Police auctions one lists about 5 small forces, and most of them use bumblebee anyway.

To answer your actual question though, they buy them because either they are too lazy or greedy

  • The only thing I could think off they use a crack html in their listing pretending looks like being sold for that amount. Because I also notice around ebay for example biding people around 12 then 11 next to the item below and the same item.

Most of the ones I have seen say that it is an Ebook in a number of places in the listing. I guess the fact that the ebook points to the venues and not specific sales means eBay cannot ban them.

I am just confused on how people confuse the ebook for an item when it even states in the title. I actually feel sorry for sellers who get negged cos the buyer didnt read the listing...... or do i??
