Good websites for recently sold property prices

Doing research on recently sold properties in the area where I'm wanting to buy and not coming up with much?
What are the best websites for this... especially when wanting to find prices in more "problematic" areas, i'e. flats in ex local authority blocks
Would be grateful for any suggestions
Thanks

zoopla the quickest that I've seen.0

I usually start with http://houseprices.co.uk - which had its latest update today.
If it's not coming up there I'll google the actual address and see if it's on any of the others.
There was a house in my road that was divided into flats and sold off - at first the details only appeared on one prices website - and now they've even disappeared from that one.
You know it's a conspiracy don't you0 -

Thanks for the heads up about the update. I was going to put an offer in tomorrow on a refurb property and I'm reducing it significantly after finding out what they bought it for less than two months ago.0 -

You may find it difficult to obtain a mortgage for a property that has not been owned for six months.

Thanks for the info. I haven't heard about that before, can you expand on the reasons please?
These vendors have done up a victorian property and added an additional bedroom with en-suite in a loft conversion. The work seems to be of a decent standard. The pricing is a bit high: on the market for 290K was bought for 200k on 06/09/10, but everything has been done, complete refurb. I was going to offer 235k which is around the same values of properties on the street with one less bedroom.0 -
I heard that the mort companies were getting picky because of money-laundering regulations.0

Wait, what? They bought for 200k, did a complete refurb and loft conversion, and you want to offer what smaller properties have sold for? Why on earth do you think they would accept 235k? Just because they are looking for a profit doesn't mean the house isn't worth what they are asking.0 -

It's a starting bid. I expect to go a lot higher than that. It's not worth 290 though.0 -

Yeah I know - but unfortunately rather useless on the "problematic ones" as mentioned. Thanks anyway.PasturesNew wrote: »I usually start with

Thanks, I've already tried it, but unfortunately like most of the others it is not coming up with much useful info. What's use knowing prices on neighbouring properties if you don't know type/size of property?! It's like comparing apples and pears, right
Now here's another thing that puzzles - houseprices website uses info from Land Registry yet when I try searching Land registry with those same address details (as I'm prepared to pay couple of quid for the more detailed info available there) nothing is coming up? If I try map search I encounter error as it comes up with too many properties, searching by address of the flat doesn't come up with anything? I tried many different forms of the address, still nothing. Anyone has any experience with this?0
