Toyota without a doubt.

I have used Motability for many years now
If your care needs or has an adaptation you can lease it for 5 years instead of three which is better
I had Renault Kangoo which was very reliable, no bad points at all
I managed to get a grant this time to pay the up front excess cost which no one seems to understand we also have to pay on top of all our DLA HRM
Most people don't realsie they may be elgible for a garnt so always apply if you not in work.
Sorry cannot advsie on models you asking about but wanted to be suportive and like you say I too would gladly give away my disability and pain and all the travelling nightmares I face as a wheelchiar user then have Motability scheme, some people just jealous of what they 'think' we get 'free', if they looked at the facts they would understand Motability is a charity that makes a profit from selling on used cars in good condition and low milage, its not funded out of other tax payers money just trying to assist disabled people to get around.0 -

Thank you Meri
Well made point - I hope its noted by others who "think" they know what they are talking about!0 -
I have a renault, she is 8 now. mechanically not issues but the keyless opening and push button start takes a while to get used to. renaults not the greatest in snow either but no idea where you live or if that is an issue for you. I would choose the toyota. I'm expectic 3rd child so we have test drived the grand senic, verso, picasso and a honda FRV (i think) my preference is frv, verson, senic, picasso. That was for our needs you may be different.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I've had Motability cars for 12 years, all people carriers, mostly Citroen & Renault but one year we went with a Nissan and it's the only one that's ever had to go to the garage for work ... on several occasions, I might add!
So Dainty1976, I'd thoroughly recommend the Renault Grand Scenic, that's what we have at the moment & I absolutely love it.2017 Wins: £200 (Total since 2008: £43,827!)Best wins: £5000 with ITV , Trips to New York fashion week/Malta/Lake Como/Paris/London/St Mellion spa, iPhones, iPad, TVs, vouchers

I think your tone is very unfair, I am sure the OP would prefer to have their mobility rather than have a car.
BTW. it is not free, it is taken from your DLA, I pay £40PW for mine, without it I would never leave the house.
OP, depending on your disability you should consider what car best suits your needs, I have a Coupe, because it has a wide door, and is low with makes access easier. I get many comments about the car and being disabled, I put it down to the individuals ignorance. Hopefully one day I will recover, Ignorance is a permanent disability.0 -
Have you thought of the s-max, we have one after a few problems at first. Now its a lovely car, looks one of the best of the mpv range. Shame not to give it a go.0

I dream of the s-max (lol) but since the advance payment is so steep there's no way I can afford it - and as I need an Automatic, the AP will probably be almost twice what I've seen for the manual. I know I can apply for a grant as I've spoken to Motability about it already, but they've said that I am eligible and do qualify (am yet to fill out the paperwork) and thet they give the grant to the equivalent of the cheapest car in the class (and reasonably so I think) so that means an S-Max is just not an option for me!0 -
Which did you feel most comfortable in? Because this is going to be the biggest issue, especially if driving causes any issues for you. Not sure if it would meet your needs but I got the Skoda Fabia estate, which is very comfortable to drive, and reduces the pain I experience from this. As for the 2 that you have highlighted, good reviews on both, so it comes down to personal choice. Remember that as far as relaibility goes you only have it for 3 years.0

I don't think it matters too much in the case of a mobility car, you are protected from repair costs so reliability becomes only a matter of convenience, not cost.
You would probably get 5 in favour of the toyota for every 1 renault fan, but you will get more renault for your money.
Incidentally I funded my own car effectively from DLA, went with a megane estate so I am somewhat biased.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
