If my son claims carers allowance for me ,will it affect my income support ?

You may lose the Severe Disablement Premium from Income Support. You will only be getting this if you are living alone, or any adults in the home are disregarded eg also in receipt of DLA.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

The benefits of the person you care for
If you claim Carer's Allowance, it could affect the amount of benefit the person you care for receives.
The person you care for could lose the severe disability premium in their income-related benefit.

Thank you , i dont get SDP because i dont live alone....
so the rest...well little amount of IS i get wont be affected....
i assume Carers Allowance is taken in to account then for my HB and CT benefit ?0 -

The CA would not be your benefit, and as you get DLA Care at Higher or Middle rate there would be no Non-Dependant deduction, so it wouldn't affect your HB. It might affect anything your son gets though.0
