- all this time to get a 100-somethingMB d/l is verging on the ridiculous, .
I agree with that.
It's been painful reading this thread.:(
Linux Live CDs are available on ebay for less than £1.
Like this one here:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ubuntu-10-04-10-10-CD-32-and-64Bit-Avalible-/160491714192?pt=UK_Computing_Software_Software_SR&hash=item255e0d3690Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
My HDD is adequate, I have a trojan eating the space which I am trying to remove in another thread.Yes fwor beat me to it . I think my 1st link #11 comes down as an iso and just use nero to burn image/project/copy>disc image.
My post #25 is trying to help you - all this time to get a 100-somethingMB d/l is verging on the ridiculous, library clearly isn't up to scratch.
Puppy does need ram to work in -at least 256MB.
Think I mentioned hdd from cex under £10 del. in an earlier thread.
But I have an idea - I can use the dongle on the library PC as it overides Notts CC's slow connection. My PC doesn't have a DVD drive, so is there something bigger I could use on a 700MB CD-R?
I have 1GB of RAM (991MB usable)0 -
Not as painful as following peoples' suggestions, I can assure you. It's been painful reading this thread.:(
The fact is that not a single person can tell me if any particular version of Linux is compatible with Mobile Broadband dongles.
I wish I had never tried SliTaz, it installed itself on my HDD without my permission and has taken over my PC. Of course, it can't install the software on my 3 mobile broadband dongle. Now I can't run Windows because it is on the same volume.
All this has only happened because nobody would analyse my HijackThis log on my original PC, despite putting links to it on another thread

You are not following people's suggestions. You have decided on the way that you would like to fix the problem and remain frustrated with your efforts after more than three weeks.
The biggest obstacle to fixing your problem is you. Take the hint in the kindest possible way.
I've pointed you towards a solution. It's up to you if you choose to listen.0 -

You know maybe you should take responsibility for yourself seeing as you're the one that messed things up.
The fact is that you haven't done any research yourself to find out any of your answers, you've provided few details and expect people to somehow know what you're talking about.
Its a little known fact that computers programs are really really stupid, they only do what they are told. SliTaz didn't install itself, you installed it. And blaming the people of this forum for your self induced problems is missing the point.
Are you seriously suggesting you can't use windows because SliTaz installed itself on the same volume which is a direct result of someone not analysing your hijackthis log???:rotfl:
