Just applied for a Capital one credit card/my Credit..

I've just applied for a capital one credit card for peeps who have bad credit, ccj's (:o) the APR for this is 34.9 APR.

They haven't gave me a straight decision as in, ''yes or no'' it just says we will get back to you within 7 working days on a decision. Do you think i will get accepted or you just couldn't say?

Also on to the 34.9 APR, yes not great but, i'm finding it hard to get accepted for credit anywhere i go. I've recently got my credit report and there were some stuff that i didn't take out, so i asked Equifax to do an investigation, they said they would contact me within 11 days without the outcome but it's been 3 weeks now and no reply.

However, about 2 weeks later i have applied for an overdraft for £50 and i got it. (Surprisingly) Applied a few months ago for it, and i got declined. Then i applied for a credit card with the same company, (halifax) and i got declined. :rotfl: Strange how credit works, i was told by a Representative, that if you got accepted for an overdraft, you would get accepted for an credit card...

I just want to be given a chance, no one seems to want to give you one.

Has anyone been in the same position me, could you give me some tips? Applying for the card a good idea?

Thanks

We need to know a lot more about your credit history and credit file to give an opinion.

Have you ever defaulted? If so, how long ago and has the default(s) since been repaid? Have you ever been, or are you, in arrears on any accounts? CCJs?

Does the account information on your credit file suggest you may have been a victim of fraud? Are accounts listed that you didn't have? Are you financially linked on your credit file to anyone?

How many recent (in last six months) credit applications have you made?

RE: Overdraft & Credit Card - Halifax will have, in all probability, provided you with the OD without a credit check based on how you run the current account but performed a full credit check in conjunction with the credit card. The helpdesk assistants rarely know how their credit checking systems work.

Can't say with the information given, but the 7 days is normal, I think they do it on all applications. I just applied myself, got a letter off them a week later asking me to send proof of ID and address within 2 weeks so they could continue with my application. Guess even the sub par cards are covering their behinds these days...

Not with my online application, their computer said yes instantly and to expect the card in 7-10 days.

Lucky you, though in my case I only have just over a year's worth of UK address history, coming from the Netherlands, so I'm still considered a higher risk category.

My pin arrived this morning and I only applied the day before yesterday, so quite impressed at their efficiency so far.
  • When I applied I was told to wait 7-10 days for a response.

I rang up the next day was told my credit limit and advised to return the credit agreement which was on its way.

I got my card and pin about 14 days later.
