Velux style windows

Hi

First of many posts I'm sure.

I'm trying to find out of there is any alternative to Velux windows? We are going to be doing a roof conversion & need to keep a tight hold of the budget. We need Velux windows but they are expensive.

Any suggestions on alternatives or how to bulk buy cheaper Velux windows?

Try Rooflite, they tend to be cheaper than Velux - stocked by B&Q I think too. Also try Fakra and Fenstro.

Our builder fitted Fakro. Seem OK so far.

Brought 2 Velux off Condells online as they are doing 20% off the price.
You could also try flee bay
You will also need the flashing kits as they are sold seperatly

Fakro worked out more expensive for me tbh...

Thank you for all your suggestions.
I will have a look at them. Interestingly I have just been reading another thread about Velux windows inner glass exploding :eek: My last house had on above my daughters bed & I will bare this in mind when choosing which type/range to buy & also where to locate beds!

Now off to set up my account so I know when I have a reply.:D

Just make sure you specify a laminated inner pane, then you wont get problems with them shattering. Its not a rooflight problem, its a double glazed unit problem
