  • Bosseyed, I would rather wax my chest that feel so aggrieved at this rant, but hey, yous done it now!
  • Great rant and I couldn't agree more it's SOOOO annoying and I've had this loads lately! Old thread I know, but I actually came on here to rant about the time wasters who are taking this to a new level....

On 2 separate occasions different people have asked if they can give me eg "£20 for something I have advertised for £40 as they're skint at the moment as they have just had to pay for their baby's headstone"!!! Totally sick b*****ds or what !!!

I'm going to try to avoid this type of bull in future, by avoiding all text contact as this seems to be their favoured method.

Also agree never tell buyers something is sold if someone is (meant) to be coming to see it. It's preferable to say someone is coming to look at it and you'll let them know if it's still available, that way they know if they don't hear back it's gone - genuine people do deserve to be treated well and equally should not have to waste their time if something has just been sold.

    Aaaah thanks that feels better:D

Never tell other potential buyers it is sold until you have cash in your hand and the item is gone. Even if that means telling a buyer who turns up at your house that you have just sold it.

That's as dishonest and ignorant as what the OP is describing. How is allowing someone to take the time and the cost to come to your house only to tell them they've wasted their time any better than not turning up when you've said you'll buy something?

If people were a little more considerate of others these problems wouldn't exist.

Advertised something on gumtree.com....they saw the item...somewhere else, my item was a lot cheaper hardly used , they came kicked the tyres so to speak..., walked around it, got machine to the door, then it was ooh let me check the measurements my end...they went...never called back...lol

I refer to my byline below ...

    Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.

Sign of the times sadly, people just don't have time for each other nowadays.

I blame it on the recession, when things where good people had more cash in their pockets this just did not happen. - this happens all the time especially on Free ad newspapers and sites:mad:
