Transfer Of Equity

afternoon

my ex girlfriend was sole ownership of our house (i am happy for this to happen) so she has contacted Northern Rock to do this.

they advised getting a solicitor,which we did and they want £470 to do it!


details below - can it be done cheaper?[/U]


On your transfer of equity £350.00
Plus VAT on our fees currently at 17.5% £ 61.25
Our total fees £411.25

In addition there will be the following standard disbursements to pay:

Land Registry fees £40.00
Office copy entries (approximate figure) £20.00

    Property, it's the perfect game for rip off merchants! Thats ridiculous, good luck finding it cheaper - there probably is a way, but i dont know it. Have you tried other solicitors for quotes?
  • You will always need a solicitor for a transfer so these fees are always to be paid. the lender may charge at same time
