Luton Airport - Dynamite Parking

Does anyone have any experience of using this company as I am in the middle of a disagreement with them for damage caused to a car. Basically, they admitted liability. They offered to pay for the repairs (I have emails from them agreeing to it). The car has been repaired. The repairer agreed with dynamite parking that they would pay on completion of the job. They are now refusing to pay and the repairer is refusing to release the car without payment. I am now without a car and have been since Monday. I have no grievance with the repairer, they have done a great job and feel they are being scammed. They have a right to take a lien over the vehicle until payment is received. What rights do I have? Andrew at Dynamite Parking simply refuses to take calls from either myself or the repairer and I am seeing my solicitor this afternoon. Suggestions please! :o

If you have an email agreeing and there is no get out clause i.e. they need to approve the quote, then you have a good case. I would guess you could also claim for taxis, etc because they have refused to pay and you are stuck without a car.

Did the email to you say anything about how/when they would pay?

  • You have a good case, but having a good case is not enough, you need your car back. To bring a claim, and then to enforce that claim may take months. If it were me, I would pay for the repair and get my car back. Then pursue Dynamite. Or I might contact my insurer (depending on the cost of the damage v the cost of excess). Then I might turn up at Dynamite's premises and stand outside with 100 leaflets saying "don't leave your car here - it may be damaged blah blah blah".
  • Thanks for the responses guys. After sending a copy of this thread to Dynamite Parking on Friday afternoon, the repairers received a phone call half an hour later with CC payment. I had my car for the weekend so I'd say the forum helped achieve a successful result. It's just a shame Andrew of Dynamite Parking couldn't be bothered to follow through on his promises without the threat! Certainly won't be using him again, or referring others to him, his whole handling of the situation was very unethical and totally unprofessional.

In all seriousness you would have to wonder why a company involved in car parks at an airport would call themselves Dynamite Parking.
  • I too had my car damaged by DYNAMITE PARKING LUTON AIRPORT they first asked me for photos etc, then they told me they would check their CCTV but now they are ignoring me. They are obviously not a reputable company so I wish you well. We need to leave reviews about this company but as yet they are not on ant review sites.

Well I am actually the repairer who fixed the damage caused by these lot to the OP's car. The guy who seems to run the place called Andrew is a real pain in the rear end. I contacted him 2 weeks ahead of the repair and he gave me a purchase order number. I had reason to call him a couple of times before the day and he answered the phone straight away and was very helpful. He agreed to pay by Credit Card on the day of the repair and I told him that with 3rd party payments we couldn't release the car back to the driver until payment was cleared. On the day of the repair I called him as arranged at 8.30 before we started the job and he said he had left his credit card in the car and would go and get it and call me back at 9. We started the repair and that was the last time I was able to contact him for 4 days. His phone went straight to answerphone or was simply not answered at all.

The only assistance I got was from one of his employees, a night driver called Graham. His number is on the end of Andrews answerphone message and it may be worth you giving him a call. I got the impression from him that this sort of thing is a common occurrence. I think he felt a little embarassed by his bosses actions. I must say that I have never used this company personally, but after this experience I would never consider it anyway. The website looks very amateurish and it does make you wonder when all the numbers divert to Andrew's mobile! The damage on the car we repaired was just carelessness. Scratches on the front door, front door handle and door mirror of a BMW. Hope you get this sorted out although I do fear you're in for the long haul.

and for the parking service, his secure compound is most likely a road somewhere..... fit a tracker or sim unit, easy to see where your car goes with these people.
  • would not suprise me if the cars are parked in Slip end where i live (and where air parks is based)...our roads are constantly chokka block with parked cars for weeks on end:(
