Disappointiing prizes

After the thrill of winning a prize and waiting for it to arrive, or to attend it, have you had any disappointments, mine are as follows:
Last Xmas I won tix to see Hayley Westerna at Norwich Cathederal. It was cancelled by email within a few hours of my leaving home, due to her illness. I was told I'd be sent some replacement tickets but despite my following it up in the summer, nothing has materialised.
Then, I won a fantastic goody bag from Conde naste, it contained summer holiday items. The sunhat was dirty, the t. shirt plucked and the psp had all protective seals removed and no packaging. The whole lot had been used for something
The TV I won from the Daily Express lasted only a few months. I let them know and their promoter sent me a reconditioned unit which blew with the same problem with a couple of weeks. I did however get a brand new one from the Express eventually, but could have done without the stress
How've you got on with your prizes?
But please dont think I'm not grateful, I love my all consuming hobby and the great prizes I have won and I send many thanks to all who post comps here.

Well there were my goodwood festival of speed tickets that turned up the day of the event. lol.
The roxy bikini swag bag I just found out I won from seventeenmag back in june and have never been told about - have emailed, facebooked, phoned and twittered with no reply.
The mother nature jjb comp where it took a while to get the prizes.
Overall though - the majority of my prizes turn up promptly without the need to chase and are often beyond what I expected.
I'd say overall i'm a happy little comper. Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -
Oh yes, you've reminded me, I won homebuilding show tickets which had expired :rotfl:
Yes I'm with you, the good ones outweigh the bad. I still love this comping bug!

I was a runner-up in a recent babyworld comp, prize included PJs, Album & stickers, they called me and I missed the call but left a message asking what size PJ's I needed, I called back & left a message and said 2-3, when I got in there was also an email, I replied again just to be on the safe side - requesting age 2-3!!
What turns up in the post age 12-18mths, pack of stickers, no album! Now in the process of returning the PJ's to them at my cost in the hope of getting a bigger size, they said the album will follow from another supplier????
I must say though, I am normally thrilled with all my wins no matter how small and a very big thanks to all who post comps!! :T
.......waiting for the postie to bring me a surprise delivery of an Xbox (DS dream xmas pressie)....I must have won one of the hundreds of Xbox comps I have entered surely :rotfl::hello:0 -
luckily my prizes have been lovely. the only ones that spoiled it really were the Rod Stewart tickets that never happened and also received an email from Good To Know saying id won a pressure washer and have still not received it and no response to emails etc0

I am always pleased with prizes. I won a small bundle form Argos at the beginning of the year - the write-up said it was 3 different gift sets from the Gok wan range, but there was a delay and when they arrived it was 3 sets all the same. Still, that sorted birthday presents for 2 friends.
But the coupon site supersavvyme has twice sent coupons that are out of date when they arrive (£5 each time for a £10 spend - so effort reqd) and I have abandoned that website to its fate.0 -
I have been happy with the majority of the prizes I have won except for one from fb which turned out to be a knitted baby hat that wouldn't even fit a doll still never mind I am still happy with what I've won.If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

I won two tickets ages ago to a Van Morrison concert but the WEM came at 6.30 and the concert started at 7.30 and I was about two hours from Wembley plus parking and traffic, shame I would have loved to have gone.
One of the things I dislike most is getting the card from Royal Mail saying you missed a parcel then getting excited and going to pick it up and then it turns out to be a bottle of fabreeze, a pint glass, a cleaning cloth or a pint of long life milk.
Still nothing beats getting a lovely WEM or a prize that is more of a treat than a cleaning product.Debt Free - done
Mortgage Free - done

What is WEM?0

WEM = winning email
The vast majority of my prizes have been great.
I did win a Felix dressing gown from Nissa which took a number of email reminders before it was sent then when it arrived it is enormous - far too big for me - sooo disappointed.
And the JJB vouchers from Mother Nature which never arrived.
There was a dvd which took ages to arrive - but when I contacted the company back they were most apologetic - the delay was due to the company they employed to manage their prizes. Human error does creep in sometimes.
On the whole though no complaints, have won some fab prizes:cool:'Now sir you tell me the world's changed
Once I made you rich enough
Rich enough to forget my name' Youngstown
Eleventh Heaven = no 166 - none yet but 50 weeks to go:cool:0
