I know there are endless threads out there about current accounts and which are the best.
I wanted to start this one for people to just give the name of the bank and one line ONLY about why it's the best and leave it at that.
NO DEBATE to follow it, just statements from everyone.
Let's get a true picture.

No such animal as "best bank" or "best account" - different people need/want different things. Without knowing what those wants and needs are, any recommendation or statement is meaningless.0 -

I would say Lloyds TSB Vantage for those that stay in credit with a healthy balance; First Direct for those that NET #1,500 a month +, and HSBC for all others.
Reasons?
LTSB: Credit interest rate very competitive for medium - high balances
First Direct: Second to none customer services with competitive savings and mortgage rates
HSBC: Competitive savings and mortgage rates, reliable bank history - they didn't need to borrow a penny throughout the recessionCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
