European bidder wants send to UK address - any issues?

Would be grateful for opinions.

An ebayer in Hungary wants to bid on my item but have it sent to UK address (relatives).

I do have allow selling in Europe against this item. But details state to contact me for price on posting into Europe before bidding.

So he wants to reduce postage costs - I fully understand.
Can I facilitate this request for him to bid?
Payment by PayPal only. Item is starting @ £50 + £12 (P&P) in UK.

Never experience this question/scenario.

So ebayer wants to know if he can make a bid.
Where do I stand if I agree to this and the scenario that I am informed the item did not arrive? Or whats the best protection for myself.

ebayer has 82 fb 100% and recent activity looks ok.

Ask them to add the address they want you to send to in the UK as a gift address in Paypal (emphasis as the one thing you need to do). Only send to registered Paypal addresses otherwise you lose seller protection against chargebacks. This is the usual advice given on the official forums and you will be better covered than if you just sent to a different address to the one specified in Hungary. I haven't had to do this myself on eBay (I've done it once as a buyer on Amazon) so bear in mind someone else will no doubt correct me if that is not possible.

If the item does not arrive, then it doesn't arrive - there's little you can really do about that. It's not that common and there's no reason to suspect it would be any different with this buyer IMO, as long as you do the above. Unless it is over £41 you are fully insured through RM anyway if you get a Certificate of Posting, so I wouldn't really be worrying about that part of it quite yet. For the sort of price you are talking about, you should be considering a courier or special delivery anyway, so I would not personally be unduly concerned about a fraudulent INR as SD and couriers usually insure packages of that kind of value properly (whereas Recorded doesn't) and I am assuming that quote for UK postage is to cover the costs of fully tracked posting. I am not saying the buyer necessarily will do this, and I must stress that trusting people is one of the things that is necessary in online commerce, but in the case of a fraudulent INR you will have more to fall back on than if you just sent it regular post as Paypal would have definite proof of delivery and the item will be genuinely protected.

If recent activity looks OK then I wouldn't worry too much, so long as you are sending to an address registered in Paypal.

No problem. I hope it goes well for you. I'm always happy when someone is happy to send things abroad (although your case is slightly different). I don't think I could have got through my first few months as a student in Poland - when I spoke too little Polish to be able to go out and do anything except work on my stamp collection - without being able to buy things from back home, so I'm always happy to try and help this.
