Hello again folks,
just what it says in the title, a little opinion poll to maybe help me make up my mind!
I am struggling to decide between buying a Renault Scenic 1.6vv Dynamique 57 plate, 10030 miles and a Ford C-Max 1.8 Zetec 58 plate, 14487 miles. Taking into account the age difference, they work out quite similar in price. Budget is around £7k plus whatever we get for p/x
I am grateful for everyone's input and opinions. Thanks,
Linda
PS We looked at loads of other cars, but lots of them were quite cramped with full quota of family, plus all my kit (table, high director chair, huge rolling toolbox and sometimes a gazebo!! :rotfl:)
Thanks again x

I would take a Ford over Renault reliability any day.
Also it's newer and has a slightly more powerful engine.
The extra 5k miles means nothing. 7.5k a year v 3.5k means it has been drive so less likely to be gummed up and have seized parts.
Ford C-max's are based on the focus so are generally top of the class to drive too.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -
Ford c max without a doubt. Check out the honest john website for reviews."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

C-max, it will hold a better value when you come to sell it. its also much nicer looking than the ironically named scenic....work permit granted!0

We went for the Scenic as the rear seats lift out easily to give large luggage area and it has a larger boot with the seats in. The other point in its favour was the rear seat comfort when adults are in the back. No reliability problems and now done 91k miles.0

Ive owned a 1.8 zetec C-max-cracking car,I'd still have it if I didnt have so many kids.Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.
Got a huge Buzz out of it.0 -
Senic got better holes and places to stach stuff. such as the wine bottle holders in the boot.
C-max is bigger in general. Havent had a play around much with dad new one to say much more0 -
Of the two choices, the C - Max, the alternative is a Renault.;)0

French car reliability :rotfl:
There is a reason the Focus (which the C Max is based on) is one of the most common cars on the road, and it's not because the Scenic is a prestigious expensive car that most people can't afford.0 -

I have to ask this. What car do you drive ?If Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -

In fairness, there are still loads of Scenic's (and Renault's in general) on the roads - so the reliability issues clearly aren't putting many people off.0
