INCOME SUPPORT HELP Please

Hello

I was made redundant in beginning of September and went to job centre to sign on as a single mother they offered for me to apply for income support I was waiting for 4 weeks when they told me as a foreign national I need to fill in Residency form as I did . Job centre said to me at my meeting that they will automatic apply for housing benefit for me -they never did.
I had to apply directly to the council 4 weeks later and as i had no reward letter for 7 weeks my case was pending.
I was called today and informed that I was refused Income Support- they said they will write to me with reasons
I am behind with rent 2 months.
I managed to secure a job that I start next week but I dont have money to commute-
I am still claiming child tax credit £48 a week
I dont have any savings, can you please advise me whether I can get jobseekers allowance from the time I was made redundant?
I was looking for work but I wont be able to sign on if I start this job.

I applied for crises loan last week and they offered me £14.50p

Please help

What contribution does the father of your child make to you?

How long have you been working/paying NI contributions in the UK?

If your husband is not paying maintenance for his child, you should contact CSA - after all, you are looking after his child, and he should be responsible enough to provide for her/him.

So you have a job which you start next week and you will be paid how? Weekly or monthly? If weekly, then I am of the opinion (which could well be wrong!!) that if you take your letter of appointment to the Job Centre, they may be able to let you have a travel warrent for the first week's travel. If you will be paid monthly, ask your employer if they have a scheme whereby you can receive an advance on the first month'smoney which you will pay back over three months - some companies do this.

I may be jumping to conclusions here - and if so, I apologise - but as you are Polish, are you also a catholic? Ask if your local church has any contacts with a charity which might be able to help you out for the first few weeks.

    Good luck!
