Qatar visa help, please?

Hello!
I've booked a flight Doha, Qatar for Feb 2011 in order to visit a friend who will be working out there. I'm confused about where I can get a visa for my stay, plus which website is the official Qatari embassy website!
Please can anyone help me just work through this?
Do I have to get a visa before I fly? If so, where from?
Can I get a visa on arrival?
Will it be a problem that I will be staying with my friend (just a friend, she's got a 2 bedroomed flat and my husband is looking forward to a week without me!) as opposed to a hotel?

Typical! However, hopefully it's there for future people wanting to ask this same question.

Why not send an email to the airline with your booking reference number and ask them if they can help? Or better still call their helpline and ask?0
