teeth/ gum problems in cats

Hello all
My cat is a little bit off her food and has an occasionally weepy eye. She is also seeming a bit sorry for herself. I rang the nurse advice line we have at our vets and they have suggest it may be upper mouth/ tooth problems. Unfortunately our cat is a rescue girl and has a broken tooth before and is therefore not covered for teeth/ gum problems on her insurance
. She's booked in to be seen on Sunday and I am wondering what sort of costs might be involved if she has a minor problem or needs antibiotics. I'm hoping we've caught it early
Thanks

Depends on your vets prices - for a short lasted eye infection with no re-see required perhaps £35?
If it does turn out to be the teeth and she needs a GA, dental surgery and treatment, you could be looking at anything from £150 - £300 in total, depending on the severity, her general health status and of course your vets prices.
If there's a more complicated underlying issue which is causing or exacerbating the problem then it could be even more.I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thanks for your help. Luckily she seems ok at her vet check today and seems it was just a short lived virus

not many insurers cover dental

Keep an eye on it (no pun intended!) as one of my cats once had a tooth removed as the infection was making his eye weep. If it's herpes virus too, it may need ongoing treatment which the insurers should cover0
