Hmm sadly my natural hair gets greasy and dry shampoo doesn't cut it so had to wash that and the hair extensions, I'm pretty anal about washing my hair! Guess they're just not for everyone."Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."0

DO NOT GET GLUED IN EXTENSIONS!! Especially if you have fine hair! As someone with fine hair who has used most kinds of extensions I speak from experience. I have friends who have worn extensions constantly for ~5 years and now can't go without them as the hair is so damaged from the extensions and all the processing/heat used to make the hair look like straight extensions. If you're blessed with tonnes of thick, healthy hair then extensions won't be so damaging(but then why would you want them?)
If a weft is glued in, they are expensive/time consuming to maintain and go bad very quickly... queue huge knots at the back of your head and chunks of stinky glue all over your roots. They don't last very long, no matter what any salon "guarantees" you for a hundred quid.
Individual bonded extensions look flawlessly real if done correctly but they will ruin fine hair. Bonded and micro-ring extensions often slip out of fine hair, I experimented with a micro ring extensions in my hair before taking the plunge and it slipped right out the second time i conditioned my hair. All bonded extensions shed like crazy, you'll be known as the person who leaves a trail of hair behind her. No matter what anyone tries to guarantee, you will have some hair lost from extensions. You might be told they'll last 4-6 months but past ~2 months they start to really damage hair and can knot badly above the bond which can only be sorted by removing the bond.
There are super expensive extensions that are suitale for very fine hair which don't damage the hair much, but they are seriously expensive.
Celebrity extensions look amazing because they are so expensive and have such intense after care, Cheryl Cole probably hit the salon most weeks to maintain hers and it would cost her £100s if not £1000s a month. They take ages to dry, maintain and style, so if you have a tonne of spare money and time then maybe bonded extensions are for you after all
The branded flip-it halo extensions are very full and imo look quite fake(unless you want to glam up for an occasion), but if you can find a thinner, more natural halo these are a comfortable, less damaging option.
Personally, i'd stick with the clip ins. As your hair is fine you don't need to wear as many as most people. I'm guessing your current extensions have quite a few pieces to them, 3-4 wide pieces for the back and some short pieces on the sides? Try wearing two strips on the back with the upper strip positioned on your head so that hair appears 2" shorter than the hair below and one small piece each side. As long as you're not trying to go from hair that doesn't even touch your shoulders to thick 16" locks the hair will look more natural worn to look thinner like your natural hair and slightly wavy as it blends in with natural hair better.
Ultimately, buy clips and a weft of hair from a shop so you can colour match and buy good quality soft hair and sew your own clip in hair extensions, easy, cheaper and I've noticed hair on bought clip in extensions is often of a lower quality especially online.
Have a hair dresser style the clip ins so they blend better with your natural hair, cut off the tell tale wispy ends.
Learn how to style the hair to look natural- match the hair texture to your own hair, style it wavy-ish to blend in, pin sections back to cover the bulk of a clip or the end of natural hair etc and you can have flawless, natural looking extensions. Clip in a pack of poker straight, super thick, super long extensions and frazzle your hair to get it straight and it will look awful!!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
