Anaheim is the best place to stay, LA is about 40 minutes away in the car

we went a number of years ago stayed just opposite the park

wasn't to found of all the driving to LA & back, unlike Florida, where its 1 main highway, LA is massive, and very easy to get lost (as we found)

I am currently in the Ayres Hotel Anaheim - which I can recommend and if you book through Expedia, you will get a good rate.

The hotel includes free parking (very important to consider)
    Free wireless and wired internet
    Free Breakfast
    Free wine/beer/cookies between 5:30 - 6:30 (weekdays)

The rooms are spotless, spacious although the decor is of European 'olde worlde' style which is fine.
    Staff are excellent and welcoming.
Excellent value and is rated number 1 on Tripadvisor ratings.

    Enjoy you trip.
  • We stayed at the Radison in Buena Park; free shuttle to disney, free breakfast and walking distance to Knotts Berry Farm, cinema, shopping and Medieval Times. (seemed very child friendly)

    Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim, walking distance to Disneyland in under 10 minutes.

Pretty decent place too, small pool though.

Remember to visit Knotts Berry Farm as well as Dineyland.
    .....

  • When we went we stayed at the Anaheim Plaza. You can get really great rates here. The rooms were big, and it is opposite Disneyland. :)
Free Films in 2011: Tangled, Chalet Girl, Never Say Never, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
No Buying Books in 2011 - Books read: 6
  • Stay in San Diego and travel up for the day - far better than the dump that is LA.
  • Thanks for all the advice, we wont be hiring a car so will that make a great difference to staying in any of these hotels?
    Thanks again.
