Mothercare may not be pirates in the conventional sense but they are lazy and ignorant, I too have struggled with a bump while trying to work out how to fold a pram, while less than ten feet away three bone idle assistants stood chatting. Eventually I went over to them, told them they were f###ing ignorant and took myself off to toys r us, where I could not have wished for better service. I was so mad at mothercare that I rang their CS line when I arrived home and told them about the staff, they sent a voucher - I gave it away.
And as for not having kids - whatever.

Piglet, you don't live in SE London do you? :rotfl:

Most of the shop assistants round here seem to be specifically hired for their complete lack of interest, general ignorance and rudeness.

I was in Mothercare the other week. I was waiting as the CS desk while a guy was complaining. I caught the gist of it, being a nosy old sod, lol. Anyway, this guy and his missus had been waiting a couple of months for the delivery of a cot. They'd been passed around from pillar to post with all sorts of excuses to why it had not arrived. He was arguing for his money back as his wife was due to drop the wee one the following week, when the woman said they could loan them a cot until the proper one arrived. The guy refused, and I don't blame him!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Velcro - pirate(s) is a generic term for any kind of joker outfit/person..it'll catch on trust me! You saw it here first. :D

Actually it's a pretty specific term
    1. a person who attacks and robs ships at sea
    2. a person who appropriates or reproduces the work of another for profit without permission.:p

(and yes I am bored having been fed and watered and now having to watch River cottage SWMBO says I must :D)

I know they made a mistake, but you sound like a complete nightmare customer.

Seriously? You don't think that a customer has a right to expect that their purchase comes complete without any damaged or missing parts, and that in the event that parts are damaged they can expect the vendor to rectify the situation quickly and efficiently?

Freddie, I accept that it might have been easier for the OP to go direct to the manufacturer, but I think that the point is that Mothercare have a responsibility to ensure that the product they have sold is fit for purpose.
