New 0% interest on my current Credit Card?

Hi,

I have a credit card with barclays, after many months i have got the balance down to £0.

I was thinking on calling them up to ask if i can have an offer like 0% interest on balance transfers for 12mths applied to the account since i have been with them for like 3 years - as a loyalty offer? Seeing as new customers seems to get great deals.

Is anyone aware if this can be done? Or if anyone has done this themselfs?

Thanks,

Unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. Loyalty bonuses tend not to exist in credit cards.

New customers can afford to be funded by one good deal (sometimes) but not repeatedly, or there is no profit.

Most current customers will have offers attached to their credit card accounts at some stage, MBNA seem to do them all the time with my account.

In most cases those offers won't be as good as those for new customers, however occasionally you will get a good offer worth taking up, particularly if you talk to retentions and bluff them into thinking you're going to cancel your card.

The old addage - If you don't ask, you don't get !

EDIT. A quick check online shows I currently have 9 months 0% BT's with my current Lloyds account and a 3% fee and 12 months 0% BT's with MBNA and a 2% fee should I choose to use them.

Actually Barclaycard sent me a BT transfer offer a month ago, 0% for 6 months (plus fee) after having the card for about 18 months.

All I did is used other cards, and kept checking back on the balance transfer menu on the online banking, and suddenly it showed that I have an offer, which they re-iterated on the next statement. (Seems to be a one-time offer, now it won't let me transfer again though)

I can't tell obviously if they would have offered it on the phone when asked.
    Enjoy the silence...

Yep I get offers from Barclaycard, though never as good as the introductory offer. I believe 6.9% LOB + 2.5% fee is quite a standard one that existing customers get, me included.
