Hello everyone!
I haven't joined in here for ages:o Although I have been shopping fairly carefully by myself I would like to join in again in an effort to make me use up the enormous (actually frankly embarrasing:eek:) amount of food I have in the cupboards. I have recently been suffering an acute bout of 'bargainitis' and have a ton of stuff from approved food etc, plus a load of whoopsies in the freezer.
Now in theory that means that I should only need a few bits for sarnies, plus fresh stuff for the month. However if I cut my budget too tight, I won't be able to get any whoopsies for next month. Hmmmm, will settle for £150 for the month That should give me just about enough to get what I need, plus a float for whoopsie meat0 -
Hi LannyLee,
I have milkmen around here but to my shame stopped having them when they started delivering plastic bottlers ala sm style but much more expensive. How do you get the freebie vouchers please?
Thanks in advance,
Spigs
Spigs, I'll PM you the promo code, as I think someone posted it here & it was deleted by the moderators.
If any on else wants it please let me know via PM - it was a promo code in the Telegr4ph & is valid until the 7th i think.0 -

Can i join again this month for £150 again please, i failed miserably last month as on our last shop as we had to take our niece and nephews with us and ended up spending much more than we usually do, saying that some of it was on clothes, some wellies and some christmas presents too. I must do much better this month and stay in budget.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

For those who are interested this is for me and DH who is following a high protein low carb diet at the moment
Moniker
We are in the same situation - just found a cheaper option to bacon in the morning omelette - mince beef and onion! Hubby seems to think its lovely ???? personally i find the smell repulsive at 6.30am :eek:but the diet is expensive!

I buy eggs in bulk by the tray from a local producer (works out at 1.50 per dozen).
Waitrose is our most local supermarket and they sell OX cheeks - lovely made as a madras curry in the slow cooker ! and pigs cheeks which are so lean and tender if cooked in the slow cooker :j
oh and i almost forgot - missing rice ? cauliflower rice makes a wonderful replacement - using the grater blade on food processor "grate" the cauliflower , then place in a microwaveproof dish , cover and ping for 8 mins .Started my own business and loving being my own boss

November doesn't technically start until Monday for me, but seeing as I've finished shopping for october and declared, and Approved Foods delivered this morning, I though I ought to come and get started over here.
I'm keeping the same budget again - it's taken me months to get from 'over' to 'on' to (just) 'under' budget, and seeing as there is Christmas to contend with now, I'm not considering dropping until the new year. So, it's £70 a week (£280) for 2 adults, 3 kids, and as much organic/no-additive/no-artificial/natural stuff as we can afford (which is sadly becoming less each month). Toiletries are on a seperate budget as we can't skimp on the chemical-free etc aspect with them.
So, AF, plus some other bulk/offer buying done this last week, for the November budget totals £109.52  . That's stocked up on all dry goods and household, and most tins and packed lunches/snacks. The freezers do need attention though, so I'm stocktaking and menu planning tomorrow in the hope I can do one big supermarket delivery next week and just get fruit, milk and bread the rest of the month.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0
