I had a Yamada 8400S that went faulty and had to be returned to the dealer. They don't stock this model now and are offering me a Daewoo DR2100 as a replacement. I'm far from a guru but can anybody recommend whether it's a fair replacement or not? The price is about the same....

I purchased a Daewoo VCR a while ago and it broke shortly after. I contacted Daewoo for a replacement which took may phone calls and a few months for a replacement. I sweared that I would never buy a daewoo product again!
Yamada is a highly rated make and I personally would not take a Daewoo replacement instead0 -
OK, how do I justify refusing it though?0

I think the yamada doesn't have macrovision so you are able to copy, back up videos. Check the replacement does allow copying. Also Sky have started to use macrovision on its main non film channels, which may be a future problem.0
