Long stay car parking @ Gatwick Airport
Options
I was looking for long stay parking quote at Gatwick airport North Terminal, but it turns out to be very expensive - £129 for 19 days. Is that the normal? I've never done this before. Is there any way to get cheaper rates elsewhere. This quote is from Gatwick airport's official site and their promise is that you can't find it cheaper elsewhere, which is kind of scary. Please help me out. Thanks

The only time I have used Gatwick (many years ago) we did they overnight stay at the hotel that connected to the terminal (basically out the back door of the hotel over a covered bridge and into the terminal) it was cheaper to use the hotel with free parking than to pay to park.
We do the same these days if we fly from Heathrow, we stay at the Hilton which is about a three minute walk through a covered walkway to the terminal and connection to other terminals. Not the cheapest hotel but the parking is free and we have no further traveling to the airport the next day.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
It could be even more expensive if you use the' Meet and Greet' outfit featured on last week's Watchdog. Cars wrecked on the M3; left overnight in fields and Council Recreation Ground Car Parks, acquiring parking tickets in Tesco Car Parks etc.0

Has anybody heard of Eco-Parking Meet and Greet. They are offering the cheapest deal for long stay car parking. The official one is too expensive. But I couldn't find any independent reviews for this company.
If you have used them or know about their business please post your comments. Thanks0 -

Excellent...thanks for your quick reply and I really appreciate that...
But how do I book with them is there any website or a car park search engine that I can use to find them, please let me know0 -
If you are parking AT the North Terminal it will be very expensive - an off airport car park (which will provide free transfers) should work out cheaper

Tekie, have a look at this http://www.parkatmyhouse.com/uk/driveways/horley/s/2-minutes-from-gatwick-4-cab-ride-a-horley/

I've used Purple Parking at Heathrow a number of times and have found them pretty good in terms of both cost and service. They do a similar operation at Gatwick and say the transfer time is about 15 mins with buses running every 15 mins. We usually seem to find we have to wait the full 15 mins for the next bus and it can be a bit cold if you've just returned from somewhere warmer than here - which is most places!:)

I have had good experiences with Purple Parking in the past.
You can also look at http://www.airport-parking-shop.co.uk/ which compares various car parks.
Do be aware that some (especially cheaper) car parks are quite a distance from the airport, so you need to allow time to travel. The bus service from the car park to the air port may not run 24 hours, or very frequently, and some car parks charge extra for it.
Also, some car parks require you to leave your car keys and they park the car for you. This is a total no-no for me!
