I have been looking at pre-pay credit cards and noticed that you have to purchase the cards and pay a transaction fee:(
I only want the card so I can purchase apps for my Android phone and don't really want to put in either of my regular credit cards.
Are there any free pre-pay credit cards that I could put £100 on just for the apps?
I was going to cancel my Virgin card but thought I could just change the limit to £100, would this be another option? will they lower my limit from £11k to £100? and also if they lowered the limit would they let more than the £100 be taken out of the account?
What would everyone do? I am just worried about getting a huge bill and want to limit my exposure.

I use the Cashplus credit card...There is a small set up fee and a monthly admin fee. (I think you can set this to just charge per transaction..whichever suits you best). Personally, I think this is the best and have friends who highly rate it too....hope this helps0

I totally agree with Kazzam. Cashplus seems to have the best offer out of most prepaid credit cards on the market at the moment. I’ve been using it happily for over a year for online shopping and have never been disappointed with it.0 -
These guys look pretty competitive. Anyone used/heard of them?

I have been using a UKash prepaid Neo Mastercard for internet purchases-I'm on my 3rd one now and each had a value of £50.00 on it.There is an offer on at the moment and you pay no fees at all on vouchers up to £50.00 and get to spend the whole £50.00.You have to buy a voucher first-any Paypoint will sell you one,Yellow sign with purple writing-and then you convert it to a virtual card over the internet. In less than 2 minutes you get a text message to your mobile telling you the card number ,security code on back and expiry date which is 3 months from date of purchase. It is very handy and accepted by Paypal for Ebay purchases as well as amazon and everywhere you can pay by Mastercard. The only 2 drawbacks are if you let it expire as they charge you £2.50 to refund your balance onto another card and you can't top it up as each voucher only funds one card with the original amount of credit bought. It's been great for me with no transaction fees as I only wanted a card to pay for stuff bought online. If you use an ATM they charge you something but I'm not sure what-Please check it out for yourself on the Ukash website .Good Luck!!0

Just make sure you load it via bank transfer then you don't pay any fees except the original purchase fee!0 -
