i am a bit of a computer illiterate so i am asking on behalf of my very busy wife!!
We have a small business using microsoft for registering students in a language school and accounting-if i want to do any financial calculations i have to get the data manually-(from a very cheap to run secretary) but its inconvienient-my wife says the system uses ACCESS she advises me but she has forgotten the codes to use it properly--she says it should have visual 'buttons' that simply need depressing to give a data call--i am good with bean counting but not with computers!!- the wife is the expert!! although give me an old account ledger and i can produce anything!!-if it matters we are in turkey and the 'paid' financial program from microsoft is disportionate to incomes here-the secretary costs 200 quid a month to run!!(and she makes the Tea)

If Microsoft Money is sufficient, then it is being given away for free by Microsoft at the moment, because they've decided to discontinue it; they've called it the "Sunset" version.
Microsoft Access is a database system that you can build applications on; out of the box it does nothing. My guess is that somebody has developed a (simple) financial app on your system, and it is possibly unique to your organization.0 -
İ like the word 'organisation' --sounds efficient!--the secretary has a turkish open university degree in business studies but shows no initiative to be innovative!--my wife is doing it all and tasks like sorting the financial systems out as one of a long list!( i keep a manual log of daily transactions but it isnt a good management tool!)--i am no help because i dont speak turkish and the secretary does all the input in turkish!!--i will tell Mrs De about sunset--thanks!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

my wife cant get sunset to download--does anyone think being a turkish/foreign ip affect these things--someone has suggested openoffice(shareware)--do people rate it?mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

I use money manager Ex which I find more than adequate for my basic budgeting needs. Have a look at it (it is free):

i think she needs more of a business 'tool'--i will bolt my personal budget onto the program to keep the secretary busy--i am one for saving energy to be able to do more important things!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
