Passbook account, direct debits?

Hello, ive got a basic passbook account with the Halifax and was wondering is it possible to get your wages paid into this account and can you pay direct debits ( mortgage etc) paid out of a passbook account, Ive obviously got a sort code and account number so am wondering if its possible, im after a basic account and have looked at the barclays cashcard but was just wondering as ive had this account for years. thanks in advance.

You can get your wages paid in to a Halifax passbook account, but it wont pay direct debits.
Have you looked at Halifax Easycash as an alternative?0
