Help regarding stopping my jsa claim

Okay to cut a long story short I left me job at the start of September as I suffer from anxiety and depression. I signed onto jsa but I can't handle having to go in every two weeks, I know how stupid that sounds but I honestly cannot do it I barely leave the house and never without anyone.
I am due to sign on today at 11am, it's a back to work meeting and there is 0 chance I'm going to that. I have filled in my form to stop claiming jsa and put the date I want the claim to stop as yesterday.
Will I get the money up until yesterday since I signed on last?
I can't go to the job centre to hand in the form to stop the claim and it's too late to post it now it won't get there on time. My sister could post it through the door before her work she starts at 8am before it opens. Would they accept the form just being posted through the door? Should I put it in an envelope but then who do I address it to?
Also because I am due to sign on today and I won't be going and they may not get the book until tomorrow does that mean I won't get any money that might be due?]
Sorry for the long post and any help would be great.

If you are too ill to work, you need to claim ESA, (Employment Support Allowance), not JSA. You will need a Doctor's note for this. You will not need to sign on to receive this, but you will need to have periodic medicals and assessments - some of these can be done at home.
As for the Jobcentre today, ring them up and explain you are too ill to attend today, they will give you another appointment, but meanwhile you could start your ESA claim. see link below:

Even if your sister hand delivered your form for signing off JSA i wouldn't imagine it would be looked at today.I can't go to the job centre to hand in the form to stop the claim and it's too late to post it now it won't get there on time. Thank you both for the response. I am going to go to the doctors, I'm going to get credit to phone them tomorrow and book an appointment for next week. I can't phone the job centre as I have no credit today . I didn't get my sister to post it I wasn't up in time
So because I have now officially missed my appointment today will I not get any money that is due even if I post my book to them today? 0 -
they are real mean at the job centre, I could not attend because I had started work - wrote and explained but still lost 2 weeks money...oh to be a career benefit claimer0

Thanks Arrontdep. I don't actually have a mobile or home phone. I use my sisters when I need to. To explain a bit more my last sign on day was the 14th and I get my money on a Tuesday I get £51.85 roughly a week. so I will get paid 13 days money is that what you mean? I have already missed my appointment but will be posting the signing off form to them today with the stopping date as yestarday 27th s surely it won't matter that I didn't go in today as I'm asking to stop my claim yestarday if that makes sense. Again any help is very much appreciated.

Might be worth asking your GP if there is a local IAPT service, who can offer help with your anxiety and depression.0

Thank you DKLS I will ask them when I go to the doctors.0

Yes I am 23. I thought with jsa you are paid in arrears if you understand what I mean. So I thought I would be due money from the 14th to the 27th? Can someone correct me If I'm wrong please.0

You can be paid benefits in lots of different ways, but with fortnightly JSA and you receiving a payment in the middle of your payment period of what looks like 14th to 27th then you have already been paid this giro.
That makes no sense.
OP, in order to receive payment for the past two weeks you need to prove that you were jobseeking for this period.Gone ... or have I?0 -
arrontdep - what are you talking about?? JSA is paid fortnightly in arrears. If OP has sent back his ES40 closing his claim from today he will be paid from 15th October to 27th October - assuming they receive his ES40 withing 5 working days of him signing off.0
