Anyone else having trouble getting through to AE re points not added? Had to hold for ages then tried emailing, got an automated response but not much else.

Hi,
I have been hoping that someone would reply to your post as I have the same problem. I got 6000 points for the first two months, but not for the 3rd month although I spent more than £500 in that statement period. I called customer services, they said it will be sorted out, nothing happened. Send an e-mail and got a reply explaining that according to their T&Cs the month that you need to spend £500 runs from the anniversary date of your account, i.e. from the date your account is approved, i.e. it is not a statement month.
I am in dispute with them at the moment as I thought you needed to spend £500 in the statement month. My card was approved on the 19th of the month, but my statements are from 13th of the month. So, because of a 6 day shift, I miss out on my last 6000 rewards bonus although my statement clearly shows I spent more than the required £500 treshold. How weird is that?
Has anybody else had a similar problem? Please let me know. I am not sure how to tackle this as Amex as different cistomer services reps say different things.
Happy New Year to you all.

Its correct that its from the establishment date, not the statement period.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

Thanks catflea. I find this rule a little awkward though. I wonder if there are any others like me who were confused by that and missed out on reward points. It will be a good idea for Martin to correct the article on the website clarifying that a month is not a statement month but starts from the card approval date.0

In case anybody is interested, I read T&C's again and argued my case with American Express as the T&Cs are ambigious. They agreed with me and will reward my missing points. Result!0

When I applied for the AX Platinum Charge card on the spend offer, I just kept emailing periodically and eventually the rewards points were added.0

Same here! Took about 6 weeks of emails back and forth as they couldn't decide if the eligible period was from 18th or 21st. All points now added so it was worth the hassle!May'18 DEBT FREE!
