Neutered tom trying to mate with spayed female

Hi all,
Hope you will excuse me if I seem ignorant and reassure me that this is ok..
I have 2 cats, Chloe and Theo both about 1 and a half. They were both neutered/spayed about a year ago. Earlier, I spotted Theo climb on top of Chloe and bite the back of her neck as if he was about to try and mate with her.
After some googling I have read that this isn't unheard of, also he could physically have sex just it's very unlikely he would be interested.
Does anyone have any experience on this matter? Will this be distressing for Chloe? Is there anything I should be doing?
