Drain problem

Hi All
Will try to keep this short - my house has a makeshift extension which is connected to the house by a conservatory. I would like to make the extension permanent as I use it as a utility room. My problem is that there is an open drain into which the kitchen sink, washing machine and bathrooom discharges. Is it legal to have an open drain inside a property and if not how much would it cost to move it.
Thanks in advance.

Check with your local council planning department. Even if it is ok with them, it's not ideal & maybe not too expensive to change.0

You stand the risk of having nasty odours and moisturised damp within your house.
It is fairly easy to change but you must firstly attain which direction your drain runs to. Is there a drain inspection chamber lid anywhere? One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
Thank you - the manhole cover is in the middle of the conservatory - we have a pressure sealed cover on it.0

The best idea would be to relocate the existing manhole outside of the proposed extension before building.
If its then practical put a new gulley outside the extension to take the outlets.
Connect the gully to the relocated manhole this would keep all possible sources of problems outside the extension and no possibility of odours and or water damage.0
