Help...concert cancelled!

Options
We went to Birmingham yesterday, checked into our hotel then had a call to say that the Manic Street Preachers concert we were in the city to see had been postponed...so a wasted £50 on hotel room and £40 on train fare. I have emailed ticketmaster about refunding these unnecessary charges but they don't want to know. We'll be going to the re-scheduled date in Dec and will have to have travel and accomodation again, this just seems so unfair. Has anyone any ideas of a way of getting my money back? Any help would be gratefully received!

You will not get your money back, the contract between you and Ticketmaster was solely for the ticket and not consequential loss.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • As someone has said, the concert promoter is only responsible for the concert, not any additional expenses that you incurred beyond the ticket.

I wish it were the case. I'd be owed a fortune from football matches that have been postponed / rearranged for Sky TV.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
TBH to cancel at short notice like this is so unfair and no ones fault but theres nothing wrong with the manics throwing a free programme and some "other" goods as a sort of sorry and thanks to people put out and having to pay twice even for bus fares. (the amount of money claimed was lost in travel and hotels fees for Michael Jacko fans is staggering)
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
  • Sorry you're stuffed. It's not Ticketmaster's faut the Manics have cancelled. They will refund your tickets if you can't make the new date. That's all they'll offer you and, sorry to be harsh, it's not their responsibility to offer you any more than this.

Manics have also cancelled Brixton tonight and tomorrow.

I hope you managed to make something of your visit. If you get served lemons you make lemonade.
